2023 Spring Pest Update
Gypsy Moth Expected to
Flourish Again
The last several years have seen some serious defoliation by the Lymantria dispar dispar caterpillar in Northwestern Vermont.
Their populations are normally balanced by several predators and pathogens however growing conditions for these has been sub-optimal lately, therefore we have seen an explosion in the gypsy moth population.
Your trees can be protected for up to two years with a simple injection treatment. While it won't stop the caterpillars from trying to feed on the leaves, one bite and they will soon die.
